About Ann-Marie 

Ann-Marie is certified in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS),  a model of therapy that is highly effective in working with trauma as well as in resolving struggles with uncomfortable emotions and unwanted behaviors. She uses IFS as her primary modality of counseling, but is trained in multiple modalities of therapy.  She has trained with the Gottman Institute and the American Association of Christian Counselors.  Ann-Marie enjoys leading workshops, speaking, and training and developing other therapists.  Prior to going into private practice, Ann-Marie worked at Meier Clinics in Richardson, Texas in the Day Program and Outpatient Clinic.   In addition, she maintains high standards in remaining educated on current treatment strategies and is committed to continued growth both professionally and personally.  She is highly committed to her own personal healing, growth, and development and does not ask her clients to journey where she has not journeyed  herself. 


Ann-Marie lives in Plano, Texas with her husband of twenty-five years and their three teenage children, including one internationally adopted child.  She is actively involved in her church and volunteers in her community.  In her free time, she enjoys distance running, travel,  time in nature,  reading, and spending time with her family and friends. 



​​​​Ann-Marie Bowen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baylor University. She majored in Psychology and minored in Religion and graduated Summa Cum Laude. In addition, she holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX#17524), and has been counseling since 2000.  Additionally, she has supervisor status in the state of Texas as a counselor. She is a certified Internal Family Systems Therapist and has completed all three levels of IFS training.  She serves as a program assistant (PA) in IFS trainings and is also an approved IFS clinical consultant.


Ann-Marie Bowen is passionate about helping others grow deeper in self awareness and is an ideal therapist for those who are interested in understanding and healing the "roots" of their pain and struggles.   She is a gentle guide and partner with those who are on a journey of personal growth and healing.  She also offers guidance in the intersection psychological healing and spirituality.  ​As a seasoned therapist, she has extensive experience working with numerous issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, adjustment issues,  grief, infertility, and relational struggles. Special areas of interest include trauma recovery and family of origin issues,  boundaries, codependency and attachment wounds.
